I love online shopping!!
I know, I'm crazy, but I think waiting for and anticipating something awesome in the mail is great!!! I know for a fact I get this kind of rush passed down from my dad.... who is quite the online shopper himself!!! I'm sure he's so proud of me!! Haha, j/k.
So today I got a package from ups!! I only had to work a 1/2 day, and I totally made sure I had nothing else to do today but wait for my package at home!!! Maybe that's why I love online shopping, it makes me actually happy to be at home for a day!!! So I was off of work by 11, and my stuff arrived around 3!! I got a blush from mac.... and it is FABULOUS!!!
I got the shade mocha, which according to the website is a soft plum pink with a matte finish. And the website picture did not do it justice!! I never would have even thought to try this color out, but I remember from about 8 months ago or so that I had looked at this color at a mac counter with my mother, and I remember thinking how pretty that color was!! So here I am 8 months later, finally getting mocha, and loving it!!!
So there ya go, online shopping is one of the things I really appreciate now that I live in a small town.... :-)

finally!! 4-6-10
I am happy to report that I think my life is on an uphill for now.... it was on such a downhill for a while there.... and now I think the tables have turned!!! I don't know, work and everything was driving me crazy for a bit there!!! But finally I think I can breathe!!! I have the next 3 days off... and I am VERY excited about it!!! My honey has the next 2 days off, and I feel like we haven't had much time together at all!!! so wahoo for that!!!
As for another rut in my life.... I know I'm a makeup nut, but for a while there I felt like everything was coming out the same when I was trying to do anything new. And now I feel a new rush of inspiration for some reason!!! I've been going through all the things that I have, and I have found a new love for some old items!! I love it when that happens!!! So there is the uphill for that...
And for our house.... it's kindof spring so we're going to be working on the yard, which is great!!! Maybe by the end of this year we won't have a huge dirt yard!!! It would be soo nice to have something green to look at!!! So I'm very excited for spring... or what would be spring right now, it's more like winter still!! Oh well though, even if we miss spring, summer is just around the corner too!! :-)

Fabulous face moisturizer...
So, I ordered myself something for my birthday, because that's how crazy I am!! But I am SOO happy to report that I made a great decision in buying this stuff!! I got the Lancome Bienfait Multi-Vital moisturizer with an spf of 30. When I first got this stuff, I noticed that I LOVE the packaging, so simple with a cute little Lancome rose on the top. As for the cream itself.... I was kind of put-off by the smell, it smelled soo much like sunscreen!! It made me nervous because my skin is sooo sensitive that I thought it would probably burn my skin right off... but I tried it anyway!! And I've been using it for about a week now... and I just LOVE it!! It sinks in quickly, and even makes my makeup look amazing on top of it!! I know it didn't say anything about balancing out your skin or anything, but I find that this stuff really keeps my oily T-zone relatively matte with just a hint of a dewy glow which matches the rest of my face. LOVE it!! So if you're in the market for a good moisturizer with spf, I HIGHLY recommend this stuff! :-)
and another... "it's been a while.."
Sheesh who would have thought life could be so hectic in such a stupid little small town?? j/k, obviously life everywhere is hectic! But lucky me, it was my birthday and that was great! I got to go see my super duper family and had an amazing time!! Good food, good shopping, everything was great!! So thank you for anyone reading this who had a part in that ;-) !! I was very spoiled this year, I can't even believe it!!
So besides my birthday, work has been crazy as well!! We have inventory coming up and I can't wait for it to be over with!! My job hasn't been particularly hard, but everyone else I work with has been stressing and have more to do so I've been trying to help them, which in turn is stressing me out!! So I don't know exactly what to do about that... it's in my nature to help out and by doing so I'm not helping myself at all. I know that sounds selfish, but I am somehow killing myself by helping others this time around... what to do?
Spring is just around the corner and we have a ton of yard work to do!! Our front yard is actually starting to grow some awesome green weeds... which is way better than just dirt!! How sad that looking out my front window and seeing weeds makes me happy these days?? But hey, anything to be happy about is a good thing, right? I think so.
Well, I hope to be on here more these days, even if it just to vent... I guess that will be my thing for myself right now... I gotta do something for me!! ;-)

it's been a while...
I know I know it's been a bit since I've gotten on here!! I've been crazy busy at work, I worked 8 days in a row, my honey is sick, and things have just been crazy!!! I am just in such a rut right now, but I am sooo happy to be going home for a few days this week!! That is, as long as my honey feels up to it :(. I don't know what I'll do if he doesn't!! So yeah, I hope that anyone who reads this is doing well, and I hope to update things on here soon!! Have a great day people!!

Hair Products I love!!
So I've been branching out a little more with my hair care lately, and I thought I'd share my thoughts on some great things I've found!! And just for reference, I have relatively thin hair that doesn't like to hold curl. It tends to be on the drier side since I dye it, but hey, you gotta work with what ya got!! ;-)
First of all, the Aussie Three Minute Miracle. I hadn't used this stuff in ages, not since I was little, but I decided to check it out again because my hair feels a little fried from dying it now and again. So how is it compared to what I remember?? It's even better!!! I don't remember it smelling SOOO divine, but it sure does!!! Lots of coconut smell to it, and I LOVE coconut smells!! And as for the product doing what it says?? I do believe my hair is much more hydrated since I've used it a few times!! :-)
Second thing, the Redken Body Full Weightlifter volumizing finisher for normal/fine hair. I spray this in my hair before blow-drying, and it is amazing!! By far the best volumizer I have ever tried!! It feels like nothing in your hair, but I can totally tell a difference when I blow my hair out now!! Effortless volume that even lasts for more than one day!! I am seriously in love with this stuff!!
Third thing, I have gone through a few bottles of this stuff and I do believe it makes a difference, it is the Tresemme Heat Tamer Spray. It is a heat protectant spray that I use also before I blow-dry my hair. I do think it helps my hair not get as damaged as it would... I haven't tried a lot of different heat protectors, but this one is super cheap and definitely helps!!
Fourth and fith things, my pomade and hairspray. I use Pantene Pro-V Texture Pomade, and Pantene Pro-V Texture Hairspray (ultra hold). I love these products together!! I just use a little pomade to smoth out and texturize the ends of my hair, as well as add some texture to the back of my hair. Then I tease my hair just a little in back and spray on some texture hairspray. It certainly does the trick for me!! Both products are very cheap and give me great results!! I'm sure there are other more expensive pomades and sprays out there, but these give great results for the price you pay!!
As for shampoo and conditioner... I already mentioned the Aussie Three Minute Miracle, but I switch my shampoo and conditioner very often. For Christmas my sweet mother-in-law got me this great Matrix Biolage Color Care Shampoo and Conditioner, which I love!! It really hydrates and protects color treated hair well. I usually switch that up with my John Frieda Sheer Blonde Color Renew tone-restoring shampoo and conditioner. The John Frieda stuff is great for getting rid of brassiness in my blonde-ish hair, but I don't think it's quite as hydrating is the Matrix. If my scalp is giving me trouble with flakes, which is usually at the beginning of winter, I really like the Wal-Mart equate brand, their Pyrithione zinc 2 in 1 dandruff shampoo for dry scalp. It says it's safe for color-treated hair, but I haven't had to use it much lately. It is really moisturizing though, and I like it much more than Head & Shoulders.
So there ya go, a run down of my favorite hair stuff at the moment!! Hopefully someone gets something outta this, I love spreading the news about great beauty care!!

St. Patrick's Day!
Ok, so I know it's been a while... but work has been a little crazy, I've had to cover for people and such so I've been at work more than usual!!! Which isn't very fun now, but I'm guessing I'll be much happier when I get my paycheck in a few weeks!! So yeah, life is going ok, besides the fact that I'm super tired and can't seem to catch up on sleep!! And my poor honey is getting sick..... I hope nothing hits him too hard!! I hope he can just snap out of it... but unfortunately he usually doesn't. But lucky for me I haven't caught anything horrible yet, and the weather is clearing up for this week which is nice!!! So there ya go, not a huge update but pretty much that's all that's been going on!!! :-)

product rave - Lancome Juicy Tubes Jelly
Don't you just LOVE the little free-bee's you get when you order things online?? Well, I recently got a package in the mail from Lancome, and one of the free things I got was their Juicy Tubes. Now, I am very very particular when it comes to my glosses. Most glosses I get I love for about a day and then find something wrong with them and try to use them up as quickly as possible before moving onto the next. Well, I had just found the Sally Hansen Lip Inflation (I'm pretty sure?) which I do totally love, and thought that was the best thing ever!! Well, lucky me I found something even BETTER!!
So this little Lancome Juicy Tubes Jelly I got is a sample size, but a very good sample size at that, it's .28 oz. or 8g. Mac lipglasses are only .17 oz, and you pay $14 a pop for them!! So first thoughts, great sample size!! Next to check out, the color. I received this in Magic Spell, which I would describe as a medium pink with gold shimmer. Honestly it's not far off from my actual lip color, which probably is a good reason why I like the color so much, but still!! The texture of this gloss is AMAZING!! I'm a fan of a little thicker gloss without any sunscreen taste (clinique's long last glosswear has that taste), and without any super sticky residue. I also like a gloss that has somewhat decent staying power (I realize it is gloss and so it's not going to last all day). So does this gloss fit the bill?? PERFECTLY!! I've applied this gloss just a few times today, and my lips do NOT feel overly sticky, it's not making my lips break apart, it stays very shiney for a long period of time, has a great scent, and goes nicely over lipstick to give it a little more shine.
So seriously, if you like a thicker gloss that isn't as sticky as mac, stays on for a good amount of time, and just makes your lips feel ubber-moisturized, give it a shot!! Or you can order something off the internet and pick one out as a free sample!! Or you could also wait for a giveaway from Lancome at a department store... so there ya go!! But if you get a chance, try one, I hope you'll like it as much as I do!! :-)

silly little tip
So I have a funny little tip that probably won't fly with everyone, but I thought it was pretty fun!! One of the cute girls that I regularly watch on youtube had her nails painted, and when you looked closer they were all painted the same color, except for her ring fingers. Her ring fingers were painted with an all-glitter nailpolish, while the others were a plain color. I just thought this was soo cute!! I thought it was something different without too much effort, and it's just fun!! So I went and got a lovely dollar glitter nailpolish from wet n' wild called "sparked" which is number 435G and put it on my ring fingers. It's a pink/purple/silver glitter. The rest of my nails are painted with sally hansen's hard as nails xreme wear in #15 twisted pink. So there ya go, if you need a change in your routinely polish, and didn't know how to use glitter polishes before (guilty) give it a try!! :-)
Friday 3-12-10
Ok, so today is my last day to try and relax... but I thought I'd share this random quote with ya, I thought it was funny:
"Beauty, to me, is about being comfortable in your own skin. That, or a kick-ass red lipstick."
Gwyneth Paltrow
So yeah, I'm gunna take a nap, I just thought that was a funny quote :-)

Loreal Voluminous, Day 9
So here we are, "Day 9" with this crazy mascara!! I must say that the formula has changed, just like it usually does with mascaras. I don't think this mascara dries like it used to before... because I keep getting marks right under my eyebrows where my lashes hit my lid... so it's kind of melting off onto my lid which is really annoying!! I don't find the formula as clumpy, but I still find that it weighs down my lashes.... so yeah, I think I'll just use it up as long as I can to get my moneys worth out of it... but honestly, I'd give it a 6 out of 10. I'll let ya know if that opinion changes though. :-)

Wednesday, 3-10-10
Ha, I worked today and even after writing the date down over a dozen times I still had to check and see what day it was!! It was a hectic but also a good day. Work was out of control, but thankfully things calmed down in the afternoon after my honey took me to lunch!! It was so nice of him to come pick me up on his day off!! It made my day, and after that the day went much better.
After work we really haven't done much, because my honey did a lot of things while I was at work, so by the time I was done and we were both home, he got caught up in his games and I got caught up watching youtube, surprise surprise!! But I really find it relaxing, and for some reason I feel like I really learn when I'm on there... weird!! But yeah, another day down, another day closer to my birthday, and a package came in the mail for me, yahoo!! So I can't wait to try out some awesome free samples tomorrow morning, it'll be great!!

product review, purpose cleanser!!
So I have been using up a bottle of Clinique's Liquid Facial Soap Mild, and I'm not quite finished with it, but I decided to give the Purpose Gentle Cleansing Wash a try. I found that the Clinique and the Purpose are both a clear kind of gel consistancy, and they both foam up quite nicely. But honestly, for my very dry, fair, sensitive skin, the Purpose wins hands down!!
Let me tell you why, first of all, it does a better job at getting rid of all makeup. Nothing is perfect, but this stuff comes pretty darn close to removing all my makeup, including mascara!! Second of all, it is sooo gentle!! It feels soo nice on my skin, and it doesn't seem to "strip" my skin as much as the Clinique. And 3rd of all, it costs $5 for a 6 oz. bottle, compared to $15 for a 6.7 oz. bottle of Clinique!! So hands down, a great cleanser!!! If you haven't tried it out, give it a shot!! It has won numerous awards, and I just figured it was a joke since it was so cheap. But seriously, give it a shot, I LOVE IT!!

Tuesday...
I'm so happy to have the day off!! I do think that work is important, but I'm soo happy to have the day off!! I really needed a good day with a good excuse to not do much, and today is that day!! I did workout a little and I did get ready, but it's still been a pretty lazy day. And my excuse? It's snowing!! It was crazy, it was just fine this morning, and now this afternoon it's a blizzard! But hey, since I'm not at work, I'm actually happy to have some snow... which is weird because I normally don't like snow!
I guess a lot of my happy has to do with the fact that my honey sold his motorcycle last night!! I'm soo proud of him for doing it!! We really didn't need that bike, and it makes me happy to have one less bill to pay every month!! So that was a good thing!! That's just one step closer to being able to have a kid, so I'm a happy camper today!!
On a totally different subject, I'm also happy because I won a little contest on youtube!! I won a nyx eyeshadow palette with 10 eyeshadows!! What a great Monday yesterday turned out to be!! And my makeup worked today... probably because I watched a video on youtube about applying your face makeup, and I think it really helped!! It wasn't a video from any kind of professional, but this girl had some good ideas I thought!! So yeah, I hope that everyone is having a good day as well!! Happy Tuesday!!! :-)

here's a little tip
So my makeup tip for the day.... if there is a foundation that isn't working for you, make sure and try different application methods before you throw it out. For example, I have a great tinted moisturizer from Laura Mercier. I have the oil-free version. I liked it, then I didn't like it, then I tried it with a sponge, then I tried it with my hands, and I finally figured out what was going on. I was using too much product!! I mean, I wasn't using a TON of product, but I used a very small amount today, and my face looks better than ever!! So there ya go, don't throw things out in a hurry, try out different things!! :-)
mascara "Day 7"
Alrighty, sorry for the short delay, work and a little bit of sickness got in the way of me being on here!! Well, I don't know if it was sickness or exhaustion, but either way!! But back to the mascara!! Alrighty, so "Day 7" things are going pretty good, but not fantastic. What I've been doing is really scraping the brush off back into the tube before I apply it to my lashes. And it really does help the clumping, but as for volume, not anything special!! It's really disappointing... another mascara to add to the "crap list"!!! I also don't like the fact that I have to curl my lashes with this mascara... I'm a lucky girl who never has to curl her lashes, but this stuff makes me do it or else my lashes look really floppy!! So there ya go, I'll update ya more later, but hopefully this has been somewhat helpful to someone...

Sundays...
So I was very lazy this weekend, and I don't know if it helped me out or hurt me!! I really just wanted to relax and do nothing, but now I feel even more tired than before!! But luckily I have work tomorrow, and then a day off. So I have to get up early tomorrow, but that's ok because I know I can sleep in the next day! Seriously, I did a lot of nothing, I watched a bunch of youtube and we went out for a bit but nothing major. Here's something though, one of my favorite quotes from the office:
"When I discovered YouTube, I didn't work for five days. I did nothing. I viewed "Cookie Monster Sings Chocolate Rain" about a thousand times." -Michael Scott
That's how I feel sometimes, when I just do nothing and watch a bunch of youtube... but hey, whatever helps me relax, right?? I guess!! Hopefully this week will go well...

the mascara drama continues...
So "Day 3" of the L'oreal Voluminous mascara!! I have noticed some clumping, which is a huge issue for me!! Sheesh if it's not one thing it's another with mascara!! I really like the way that it applies, but I feel that it is quite clumpy, and I had heard rumors that it was, and they are all true!! I did heard that if you really wipe the brush off before you apply it it will help, but that sounds so silly to me!! I want VOLUMIZED lashes, and why would I want to put less mascara on my lashes to do that? Oh well, I'll give it a shot!!
But, besides that, I really like that it doesn't flake!! I never have little black spots on my cheeks... so I guess it's a step in the right direction, right? I hope so! But I'm tellin' ya, I'm losing faith in drugstore mascara fast... it was going so well, what happened?? Oh well!!

pic of the day!
Ha! There you go, I can't find the picture I was looking for, but I think this picture is funny so here ya go everyone!! This was taken last year durring turkey season. My honey was out looking for turkeys and I was in the truck... goofing off with the camera!! So there ya go, I'm going to have to take a lot more pictures so I can show you guys what I've been talking about with my makeup and whatnot... so get excited!!!
Makeup tips, oh boy!
Alrighty, so today's makeup tip won't be new to my mother, since I already told her about it!! But, it's been making me happy so I thought I'd share it with who knows who!! So I am always conflicted when it comes to my eyeshadow. I LOVE bright, bold eyeshadow, but it is really out of place where I work, and sometimes I think it makes me look more like a teenager. Then when I wear neutral eyeshadows I feel like I am SOO boring!!
So to balance out the boring and the crazy, I figured out what works for me! I do a normal neutral eye, with a lighter color on the lid and a deeper brown in the crease. Then I line my upper line with black liquid eyeliner and only wing it out a little bit to give my eyes a little more shape, because my eyes naturally draw down at the ends. Then I take any color of eyeshadow that I want (it's been purple usually lately), and put that in a thin line under my lower lashes, and ALSO a thin line just above the black liner on top! It really adds some pop to my eyes, but it's not too overwhelming!! So there ya go, if you need some balance in your life like me....

Happy Friday!!!
It was sooo hard to get up this morning!! I don't even remember falling asleep last night at all, I was just so tired!! And then when I was getting ready for work I totally broke a glass on the counter with my elbow!! My elbow went into the glass and shattered it!! It was the weirdest thing ever! But I didn't worry too much about it, because I heard somewhere that breaking glass is actually good luck. But I havn't seen anything too amazing yet and there's really not much left in the day, but oh well!!
Work went just dandy I suppose, nothing too horrible happened, and now I am off for 2 days, THANK HEAVENS!! And what am I going to do?? Hopefully not a whole lot!! I already cleaned a bit this afternoon so I won't have to do it tomorrow... because I know I REALLY won't feel like doing it tomorrow! So yeah, hopefully nothing too exciting happens!
I do think that allergy season is starting to hit around here, me and my honey are both feeling it, but thank heavens we have good generic medicine to help out with that! :-)

today's tip
So I was using that same little piece of cardboard that I use to make my eyeshadow go where I want it to (holding it up to form a line from my eye's outter corner to my brow's outter corner), and I realized that you can use this same piece of cardboard to hold under your lower lashes when you put your mascara on!! I'm the worst at touching my mascara wand to my face when I'm applying!! So there ya go, and I'm guessing you could also use it to block your eyeshadow from getting dinged on your lids, but I haven't really tried that yet, I'll try tomorrow! :-)
What a day!
So today I was only schedule to work until 11, but ended up being there at 5!!! Yikes!! It was a long day, but I am very thankful to be home now! I don't know what to make for dinner... but that's ok, I'm seriously just soo happy to sit down!!
As for the mascara, "Day 2" went well!! I curled my lashes before I applied my mascara, and I think it went really well!! So I'm very happy to finally try out a new mascara that hasn't let me down yet!! But I mean, it is only day 2, but it's always nice to be happy with mascara even if it's for a day, at least for me! I'm thinking I'm going to have to try out the new Avon mascara sometime, the SuperExtend Mascara! It's supposed to make your lashes look like you're wearing falsies! Very interesting...
Besides that, seriously, today was just soooo long and I'm soo tired from staying up too late and getting up too early!! So there you have it, just another day that I'm VERY happy is almost over!

Alrighty, my tip for the day
So I figured out something the other day that really helps me do my eye makeup. If you take the little cardboard backing off of any item(such as a mascara or liner or anything that comes on a little rectangular plastic card), you can use it to shape your eyeshadow! Just hold it up forming a line between your lower lash line and the outter edge of your eyebrow and you won't get eyeshadow anywhere you don't want it!! I thought it was pretty cool!!
Here ya go mother, your first beauty article to read!
Since my mother lives so far away and we can only talk really on the weekends and after 9 pm(because we don't have the same phone providers... curse you cell phones!) I've decided to let her in on all the silly things that I find out durring my day!! So first up.... mascara!!
I was so sad that the L'oreal Telescopic Explosion mascara didn't work out the way I wanted it to... it was great right when you put it on, but throughout the day I had little bitty flakes coming into my eyes and down onto my cheeks! And I just can't handle little black specks on my face... too weird!! So here I am on "Day 1" with this new mascara, L'oreal Voluminous. My initial reaction... I like it!! It reminds me of my oh-so-loved Max Factor 2000 Calorie, which is now no more!! The formula seems thick enough for my liking... so first impression, good!! But I did notice that it does tend to get a little clumpy on the 2nd coat application... but it wasn't too much and it wasn't too difficult to fix. So there ya go, hopefully things will only go up from here!!

The first blog...
I seriously didn't ever think I would have a blog!! But since I live so far away from family and some friends (I do have some friends down here, but left plenty where I was as well), I decided what the heck?? I am having a good day because I didn't have to work, but unfortunately my honey did. So I got up to help him get out the door and take our dog out, and never was able to get back to sleep!! So I've been up since.... five-ish this morning, but like I said, still a good day!! Just enjoying my free time with my dog and birds!! Got to take a nice long warm shower till all the warm water was gone, and took my time getting ready! Now if I could only fit better into these jeans I'm wearing.. then today would just be PERFECT!! ;-) But still, doin' good!!
